Everyone asks a version of the same question before they post, so here is the mechanism rather than a reassurance.
Public, one of your circles, or pseudonymous. It is set before the post exists and never widens on its own afterwards.
Circle posts and pseudonymous posts are excluded from search engines, are not reachable by URL outside their audience, and cannot be reshared out of it.
A pseudonymous post stores a pseudonym identifier and no reference back to your account. There is no internal view that joins the two, which means we cannot tell you who wrote one either.
Deleting a post deletes the row. It is not hidden behind a flag and not kept as a tombstone. The same applies to your account and profile data.
